Please be advised that an email cancelling your jury service will be sent on Friday, November 15, 2024. Your appearance is no longer required. If you have any questions, please contact the Jury Management Office at 973-653-2910, ext. 24030, during regular business hours.
All Jurors summoned to report (either in-person or virtually) should watch the ON DEMAND video prior to their reporting date. Most jury service hours are from 8:30am until 4:30pm. Your reporting instruction email may note an alternate date and starting time. At the conclusion of the first day, further reporting instructions will be given by the judge or by Jury Management. Please continue to check your email for your reporting instructions. Jurors who reported to a judge and received specific reporting instructions in court are asked to follow those instructions. PLEASE BRING YOUR GREEN JUROR SUMMONS CARD OR ANY JURY DOCUMENTATION FOR PARKING AND CHECK-IN PURPOSES.
Reporting Information
Jurors who receive a summons for a virtual appearance, please do not come to the courthouse or take the shuttle. Your in-person presence is not needed on the first day of your summoned date. Please follow the instructions in your reporting email.
Jurors who receive a summons for an in-person appearance, you are required to come to the courthouse and may take the shuttle. Please follow the instructions in your reporting email.

Jurors summoned for Petit Jury or Grand Jury please first log into www.njcourts.gov/mjs and confirm your service. You will be asked to complete a supplemental questionnaire.

Parking Information
FREE Juror parking is located at 387 Rifle Camp Road, Woodland Park, NJ 07424. Shuttle transportation will be provided for CONFIRMED jurors only to and from this location.

You must arrive at 387 Rifle Camp Road, Woodland Park, NJ 07424, 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.
The shuttle will depart from 387 Rifle Camp Road 15 minutes before your starting time.
If you miss the scheduled shuttle pick up, you will be responsible for finding your own parking accommodations near the courthouse, which will not be validated. Free Juror parking is for ALL confirmed jurors that received an IN-PERSON reporting email. If you did not receive an email, please contact the jury office via email and wait for a response from the jury team.
If you are a petit juror and did not receive an email notification regarding IN-PERSON reporting instructions, PLEASE DO NOT REPORT TO THE ABOVE PARKING LOCATION. NOTICE REGARDING JUROR SCAM AWARENESS:
The New Jersey Judiciary does not and has never asked for juror's banking information or social security numbers over the phone, by email, or in person. Court officials will never ask for payment to avoid arrest for failure to report for jury duty. Anyone who has concerns about being approached inappropriately concerning jury duty should contact the county jury manager as well as local law enforcement.

Welcome to jury duty. Jury Service is both an honor and a duty of citizenship. As a juror, you will have the opportunity to observe, participate in, and increase your knowledge about the operation of our court system and the judicial branch of government. Those who serve find it to be a rewarding experience and we anticipate that you will also. Thank you for serving.
Health and Safety
If you feel sick, do not report to the courthouse. Instead, contact your local jury management office to reschedule your service.
Voluntary Demographic Information
The juror questionnaire includes three voluntary demographic questions. This information helps the Judiciary understand the diversity and representativeness of jury pools. Your responses to these questions are optional and will not affect your selection.

Dress Code
Jurors reporting for service should wear clothing appropriate for an appearance in court. Shorts, t-shirts, uniforms or clothing containing statements or offensive symbols are not permitted. All hats must be removed when in a courtroom. Comfortable clothing is also advisable.
Courtroom Regulations
- Cell phones, pagers and electronic devices must be turned off in the courtroom.
- You are not permitted to read newspapers or other materials in the courtroom.
- You are not permitted to bring food or beverages into the courtroom.
If You Are Selected As A Juror
- The trial judge will instruct you regarding the trial schedule, reporting times, any recesses, lunch arrangements, etc.
- The judge's instructions will take precedence over any general instructions given in the assembly area.
- You must wear your juror badge at all times, including during lunch.
Other Factors Relating To Your Juror Service
- The daily fee for petit jurors is $5 for the first 3 days and $40 for each day after 3 days.
- The daily fee for grand jurors is $5 for each day of service.
- Checks are processed on Friday.
- Your juror check will generally be received within 3 weeks.
- Check with your employer or your union representative, or read your employee handbook if you have questions about whether you will be compensated by your employer while serving as a juror.
Employment Protection
Be aware that N.J.S.A. 2B:20-17 protects jurors from employment related retaliation and provides for the possibility of both criminal and civil sanctions.
Term of Service
The term of service for Petit Jurors is as follows: Monday: 2 days or the duration of 1 trial. Tuesday: 2 days or to the duration of one trial. Thursday: 1 day or to the duration of one trial. If you are in the jury selection process at the end of your last day of service or if you have been selected for a trial, you will serve until completion of that selection process or the duration of that trial. If you are not involved in a jury selection at the end of your last day, you will be dismissed provided there are no unexpected trial demands for jurors.
Smoking Policy
The courthouse is a non-smoking facility. If you leave the courthouse to smoke, you must inform jury staff so that we are aware of your location at all times.
Failure to Report
