Jennifer B. Eaton Appointed Deputy Clerk for Case Processing for the Appellate Division

The Supreme Court has appointed Jennifer B. Eaton as a deputy clerk for the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court.

Chief Justice Stuart Rabner’s order calls for the appointment to be effective March 22.

In her new position as deputy clerk for case processing, Eaton will be responsible for case processing operations, including the staff attorney unit, final disposition, paralegal review, the five case management teams, calendaring, records management, and other related functions. She also will be responsible for the new public access unit.

Eaton succeeds Marie C. Hanley, who was promoted to Clerk of the Appellate Division, effective March 1.

“In the many years Jennifer has been with our court system, she has demonstrated a full appreciation of our mission and has admirably fulfilled myriad responsibilities. Her promotion is well-deserved,” said Chief Appellate Judge Thomas W. Sumners Jr.

During her more than seven years with the Appellate Clerk’s Office, Eaton has worked as a supervisor in the calendaring unit.

Eaton joined the Judiciary in 2004 as a deputy court administrator in Lavallette, where she worked for five years in addition to serving as municipal court administrator in Mantoloking. She moved to the Administrative Office of the Courts in 2013, serving first as an administrative specialist with the New Jersey Supreme Court for four years before joining the appellate division.
