Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage Seeks Volunteers for Juvenile Conference Committee
The Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage is seeking volunteers to serve on its Juvenile Conference Committee (JCC).
JCC members act as an arm of the court in a confidential manner by hearing cases involving alleged minor offenders and making recommendations to a family court judge for a resolution that will help with the juvenile’s rehabilitation.
JCC volunteers are required to complete mandatory program-specific training.
Prospective JCC members must undergo a screening process that includes an application, interview, fingerprinting and criminal background check. Youth volunteer applicants to Juvenile Conference Committees are not subject to fingerprinting and criminal background checks.
Interested candidates can access the volunteer application at njcourts.gov. Completed applications can be emailed to AtlVolunteer.mailbox@njcourts.gov.
For more information about the application process for this volunteer program or for other volunteer programs, including the Child Placement Review Board, Guardianship Monitoring Program, and Municipal Court Mediation Program, contact Atlantic/Cape May Volunteer Coordinator Christina Leonardi at Christina.Leonardi@njcourts.gov or 609-402-0100, ext. 47070, or visit the volunteer pages for Atlantic or Cape May counties.
