Cumberland/Gloucester/Salem Vicinage to Hold Fugitive Safe Surrender

The Cumberland/Gloucester/Salem Vicinage will sponsor a fugitive safe surrender event on Monday, Sept. 9 to help individuals with outstanding bench warrants for nonviolent offenses resolve their matters.

The event will run from noon to 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 201 N. 2nd St., Millville.

Outstanding bench warrants for most municipal and Superior Court matters, such as traffic, criminal, child support, and juvenile complaints originating in Cumberland, Gloucester, Salem, Atlantic, and Cape May counties, will be addressed. Judiciary staff will work with individuals, who will not be taken into custody, to arrange for a judge to hear matters on site. Spanish interpreters will be available.

Representatives from local social services and public agencies will be available for the following services, in addition to legal, housing, and veteran’s assistance:
•    Vineland Code Blue
•    Spanish Community Center
•    Volunteers of America
•    Mental health and substance abuse treatment

Judiciary Staff will be available with information on Criminal Justice Reform, the JOBS Program, Recovery Court, and other Judiciary programs and services.

Preregistration is not required.
