Associate Justice Michael Noriega to Administer Oath of Citizenship at Passaic Vicinage Naturalization Ceremony

New Jersey Supreme Court Associate Justice Michael Noriega will administer the Oath of Citizenship to 26 new citizens from nine countries during a naturalization ceremony on Wednesday, July 10.

The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. in the Passaic County Commissioners room on the second floor of the Passaic County Administration Building, 401 Grand St., Paterson. 

Superior Court Judge Sohail Mohammed will lead the ceremony, sharing his experiences of becoming a naturalized citizen. Other speakers will include Assignment Judge Rudolph A. Filko, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services District Director John E. Thompson, Passaic County Commissioners Director John W. Bartlett, Passaic County Bar Association President Toni Belford Damiano, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes, and Deputy Public Defender Johnny Cardona. 

Before the ceremony, Judge Mohammed will give a welcome address. Passaic County Elections Superintendent Shona Mack-Pollock will discuss voters rights and responsibilities, Passaic County Clerk Danielle Ireland-Imhof will speak to the new citizens about U.S. passports, and Jury Manager Stacey Caltagirone will speak about jury service. The new citizens also will witness a demonstration of the use of a voting machine. 

The ceremony is sponsored by the Passaic Vicinage and the Passaic County Bar Association.
