The Bergen Vicinage will host a Diversity Day celebration on Tuesday, May 21 at 12:30 p.m. on the piazza behind 1 Bergen County Plaza, Hackensack.

The celebration, sponsored by the vicinage’s Diversity Inclusion and Community Engagement (DI&CE) Committee, will feature entertainment and food from various cultures.

The program will begin with welcoming remarks from Superior Court Judge Jaclyn Medina, DI&CE Committee chair. Trial Court Administrator Kerri Lynn Walsh-Wood will serve as master of ceremonies.

The Asian Women’s Christian Association, the Nrityalina Center for Performing Arts, the Rev. Mack Brandon and the Trinity Gospel Choir, Rory O’Moore School of Pipes and Drums, and singer Ray Pearson will perform.

Kimichi Koren BBQ, Rolling Pita, Jerkin Chicken, and Latin Bites will be on-site with food trucks.

Held every year on May 21, the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development celebrates not only the richness of the world's cultures, but also the essential role of intercultural dialogue for achieving peace and sustainable development.
