Passaic Vicinage to Host Mock Trial Program

The Passaic Vicinage and the Passaic County Bar Association will host the 2024 Vincent J. Apruzzese High School Mock Trial Competition.

This year’s competition will be held at the Passaic County Courthouse complex, beginning with the preliminary round on Monday, Feb. 5 from 6 to 11 p.m. in courtroom 918 of the Passaic County Administration Building, 401 Grand St., Paterson. The championship round will follow on Wednesday, Feb. 7 from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Ceremonial Courtroom, room 222 of the Passaic County Courthouse, 71 Hamilton St., Paterson. 

This year’s program features a criminal matter involving college admissions fraud, with high school students competing against each other as prosecutors, defendants, attorneys, and witnesses. Superior Court judges and volunteer members of the bar association preside over the mock trials, with local attorneys serving as coaches.
