Assignment Judge Deborah Silverman Katz announced today that the Camden Vicinage will celebrate the graduation of 16 participants from its recovery court program on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. in courtroom 63 at the Camden County Hall of Justice, 101 S. 5th St., Camden.
Superior Court Judge Francisco Dominguez will preside. Retired Superior Court Judge Stephen M. Holden, on behalf of the Camden County Bar Foundation, will present a scholarship to a graduate who has excelled in the program.
Edison Jaquez, author, motivational speaker, community advocate, and mentor, will give the keynote address. Graduation speakers also include Assistant Camden County Prosecutor Greg Audino and Assistant Deputy Public Defender Rachel Carlson.
The Judiciary’s recovery court program addresses nonviolent, addicted offenders. The program requires completion of phases of intensive drug and alcohol treatment and recovery, under court supervision.
The vicinage’s recovery court program, which began in 1996, has 541 participants and has graduated 989 participants.
