Saul E. Hernandez Appointed Deputy Clerk for Administrative Services for the Appellate Division
The Supreme Court has appointed Saul E. Hernandez as deputy clerk for administrative services for the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court.
Chief Justice Stuart Rabner’s order calls for the appointment to be effective Jan. 29.
As deputy clerk for administrative services, Hernandez will be responsible for assisting judges and staff with budget, purchasing, facilities, technology, personnel, eCourts-Appellate, pretrial detention, trial court record, and special events.
"We in the appellate division are excited about Saul's appointment as deputy clerk. We look forward to the continuation of the outstanding work he has provided in his prior court administrative positions," said Judge Thomas W. Sumners Jr., chief judge of the appellate division.
Hernandez, probation division manager for the Burlington Vicinage, moves into a position held by Marie Hanley since 2022. Hanley was appointed deputy clerk for case processing to succeed John Grant, who retired in November after 37 years with the Judiciary.
Hernandez joined the Judiciary in 2001, holding various positions in the Cumberland/Gloucester/Salem Vicinage, including assistant finance division manager, operations division manager, and assistant trial court administrator. Hernandez served two years as court administrator for the family court for the state of Delaware before returning to the New Jersey Judiciary in 2020 to lead the Burlington Vicinage’s probation division.
Hernandez earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Business Administration from Rutgers University.
