Camden Vicinage to Host Naturalization Ceremony

Assignment Judge Deborah Silverman Katz will administer the Oath of Citizenship to 20 new citizens from 16 countries during the Camden Vicinage’s Flag Day celebration on Wednesday, June 14.  

The event will be held at 10 a.m. in courtroom 63 at the Hall of Justice, 101 S. 5th St., 6th floor, Camden.

“The Camden Vicinage is proud to welcome our newest citizens and celebrate Flag Day with a naturalization ceremony,” Judge Silverman Katz said.  

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office’s Honor Guard will present the colors for a flag salute, Sheriff’s Officer Thomas Brett will recite the Pledge of Allegiance, and Christina Rodriguez, secretary to Assignment Judge Silverman Katz, will perform the national anthem. 

Vincent Stokes, supervisory immigration services officer for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, will present the applicants prior to the oath. Camden County Commissioner Virginia Betteridge and attorney Rachael Brekke, on behalf of the Camden County Bar Association, will speak. Alexander Adeshchenko, the vicinage’s EEO/AA officer, will give the keynote address and Vannessa Ravenelle, the vicinage’s ombudsman, will read poetry.  

Superior Court Judge Francisco Dominguez will read the names of the candidates for citizenship. Judges Silverman Katz and Dominguez will present the citizens with their certificates. 

The New Jersey Daughters of the American Revolution will present gift bags to the new citizens.
