Passaic Vicinage to Host Career and Services Fair

The Passaic Vicinage will host an in-person career and services fair on Thursday, Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the vicinage’s probation office, 55 Dale Ave., Paterson. 

As part of the Judiciary’s JOBS (Judiciary Opportunities for Building Success) Program, the vicinage has partnered with local employers and social services agencies to help prepare probation, recovery court, parole, and re-entry participants with job readiness skills and to connect them with employers. Members of the public also can attend.

“The theme of this job fair is ‘second chances.’ We have been fortunate to make meaningful and positive connections with employers and agencies in a multitude of industries that share in our mission. They will be on site Thursday to assist applicants in the pre- and post-employment process,” said Karen Ruggiero, a vicinage probation officer and employment specialist. 

Job fair applicants will have an opportunity to speak with prospective employers and gather employment information directly from representatives from several industries. Representatives from local social services agencies also will be available to provide mentoring with employment assistance, resumé preparation, and interview coaching.
