Order Rescinding April 7, 2020 Order That Had Tolled the Time for New Municipal Court Administrators to Obtain Conditional and Full Accreditation.

SUPREME COURT OF NEW JERSEY

The Court by Order dated April 7, 2020 relaxed and supplemented Rule 1 :41-3 of the Rules Governing the Courts of the State of New Jersey so as to toll the time requirements for newly appointed noncertified municipal court directors, municipal court administrators, and deputy municipal court administrators (1) to obtain conditional accreditation, which the Court Rule and Municipal Court Administrator Certification Board Regulations require be done within six months of the date of appointment, and (2) to obtain full accreditation, which the Court Rule and Municipal Court Administrator Certification Board Regulations require be done within three years of the date of appointment.

The Court took that action in 2020 because of the interruption of inperson presentation of required Principles of Municipal Court Administration (POMCA) training sessions as the result of the COVID-19 social distancing requirements.

POMCA training sessions are once again being offered on a regular basis in both virtual and hybrid formats. There thus no longer is a need to toll the time requirements for obtaining conditional accreditation or full accreditation.

Accordingly, it is ORDERED that the Court's April 7, 2020 Order authorizing the relaxation and supplementation of Rule 1 :41-3 is hereby rescinded effective immediately.
