Notice – Jury – Statewide Expansion of On-Demand (Video) Juror Orientation

Following a successful limited rollout, the Judiciary is expanding on-demand virtual juror orientation to all counties, starting with new jury pools summoned in December 2023.

As described in an October 10, 2023 notice, on-demand juror orientation enables a person summoned for petit (trial) jury service to register and view a recorded presentation online before reporting for selection. Judges will continue to conduct the selection portion of the process either in person at the courthouse or virtually.

Designed to improve convenience for jurors, the pre-recorded juror orientation provides the same information as the traditional live orientation and reiterates the options for jurors to request to be rescheduled or excused from jury service without having to come to the courthouse to do that. Summoned jurors who are unable to view the orientation video in advance will be provided the technology to do so when they report in person.
