Notice - Cybersecurity & Artificial Intelligence: No-Cost Virtual CLE Program on December 19, 2024
The Judiciary will provide a virtual continuing legal education (CLE) course focusing on security implications of AI and other emerging technologies. Building on the “AI and Ethics” program, legal and technology experts will share information about current cybersecurity risks and provide practical guidance for attorneys to better protect themselves and their clients. Consistent with the plan announced in this June 11, 2024 notice, the webinar will be offered free of cost.
In the Judiciary’s earlier survey, attorneys reported concerns about potential risks associated with AI and other emerging technologies, including deepfakes (i.e., artificial content that can be indistinguishable from real content). In response to those valid concerns and to further support adoption of cybersecurity best practices, the Judiciary will offer the following program:
- Thursday, December 19, 2024 from Noon – 2p.m.: “How AI is Shaping Cybersecurity Risks and Responses” will be offered as a live virtual program via Zoom Webinar (which meets the requirements of BCLE Reg. 103:1(n)). Advance registration is required and can be completed at this link. This program will offer 2.0 credits in ethics/professionalism through the Judiciary’s Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement Program (Provider #1720).
Details about future programs will be posted on the Judiciary’s website, njcourts.gov.
Questions about this notice or the Supreme Court Committee on Artificial Intelligence and the Courts may be directed by email to Court-Use-of-AI.mbx@njcourts.gov. Questions about registering for the program may be communicated via email to diversity.mailbox@njcourts.gov.
