Burlington Vicinage to Open Court Information and Resource Center

The Burlington Vicinage, in collaboration with the administration of Burlington County, will celebrate the opening of its Court Information and Resource Center (CIRC) on Monday, Nov. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Burlington County Court Facility, 49 Rancocas Road, Mount Holly.

Recognizing the need to enhance service for an increasing number of self-represented litigants, the vicinage established the center adjacent to the court facility’s main entrance as part of its community outreach initiative. The center, operated by the vicinage’s Office of the Ombudsman, helps self-represented litigants navigate the court system and improves public access to the courts.

While CIRC staff members cannot provide legal advice, they can give information on court processes and procedures, respond to questions, and assist with forms and packets for self-represented litigants.

Several computer terminals will be available in the CIRC for court users to access case-related information.  Three technology rooms also will be available to provide court users access to their virtual court proceedings, upon request.

“It is with great pride that the Burlington Vicinage opens the new Court Information and Resource Center. We expect the CIRC to serve as hub for court users seeking information about court processes and procedures, and a catalyst for increased community outreach. The Office of the Ombudsman looks forward to continuing its quality service through the center,” Trial Court Administrator Alba R. Rivera said.

The center will host in-person, virtual, and off-site seminars on court-related topics, including child support, divorce, expungement of criminal records, landlord tenant, and small claims matters. The Office of the Ombudsman will continue to collaborate with community organizations to assist those with limited English proficiency.

For information about the CIRC, contact Ombudsman Natonya Phillips at 609-288-9500, ext. 38118.
