Mercer Vicinage to Hold Opening of Court and Memorial Ceremony

The Mercer Vicinage, in partnership with the Mercer County Bar Association, will hold its annual Opening of Courts Ceremony and Memorial Service on Tuesday, Sept. 6 for members and former members of the bar association who passed away during the prior court year.

The public ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. in the Ceremonial Courtroom on the fourth floor of the Criminal Courthouse, 400 S. Warren St., Trenton. It also will be viewable online via Zoom.

Assignment Judge Robert Lougy will preside over the ceremony and Michael Kahme, president of the bar association, will give remarks and preside over the memorial service.

This year, the vicinage and the bar will memorialize retired Appellate Division Judge Jane Grall, retired Superior Court Judges F. Lee Forrester and Neil H. Shuster, former Administrative Law Judge Beatrice Tylutki, former Municipal Court Judge Robert Yostembski, and former Trenton Municipal Court Prosecutor Jerome Katz.

A reception provided by the bar association will follow the ceremony.
