Monmouth Vicinage to Celebrate Law Day

The Monmouth Vicinage, in partnership with the Monmouth Bar Association, will host its annual Law Day ceremony on Tuesday, May 3 from 4-5 p.m. in Courtroom 307 West at the Monmouth County Courthouse, 71 Monument Park, Freehold. The program will focus on this year’s national theme as established by the American Bar Association, “Toward a More Perfect Union: The Constitution in Times of Change.”

Attorney Eugenia Lynch will give the keynote address. Assignment Judge Lisa P. Thornton and Monmouth Bar Association President Lynn E. Staufenberg will present awards to 18 student winners of the Monmouth Vicinage Art, Essay and Poetry Contest. The Daniel J. O’Hern Mock Trial Award will be presented to the Academy of Allied Health and Science mock trial team. The bar association will present the Abraham J. Zager Professionalism Award to retired Superior Court Judge Anthony Mellaci Jr.

The ceremony is sponsored by the Monmouth Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Foundation and the IOLTA Fund of New Jersey. The program is free and open to the public.
