Passaic Vicinage and Passaic County Bar Association Receive Law Day Outstanding Activity Award

The American Bar Association selected the Passaic Vicinage and the Passaic County Bar Association as the recipients of the Law Day Outstanding Activity Award for their “Passaic County Virtual Law Day Program.” The award is for the programming efforts related to the 2021 theme “Advancing the Rule of Law Now.”

The program was acknowledged for its outreach to the community and understanding of the Law Day theme. The Law Day committee created a video that was made available to middle and high schools in the county. The video featured committee members speaking on the Law Day theme. Jeh Johnson, who served as secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security from 2013 to 2017, spoke about the Law Day theme and his experiences. Prior to his presentation, students submitted questions to Johnson that were asked during the presentation. Winners of the middle and high school students’ annual Law Day contests were announced at the end of the video.

The vicinage’s 2021 Law Day program will be publicly recognized during the bar association’s 2022 Law Day virtual launch program on Tuesday, March 8 at 4 p.m. and will be featured in a Law Day Outstanding Activity Showcase here.

The virtual launch will be livestreamed on YouTube. Register here for the Zoom link.

The annual Law Day program is a partnership with the Passaic Vicinage Law Day Committee chaired by Superior Court Judge Justine Niccollai and the Passaic County Bar Association.
